This is one of my favorite remakes (Time of the Season by the Zombies) that the Dave Matthews performs at their concert at Red Rocks in (I believe) 2007.  Enjoy!

Now compare it to the original…

Leroi Moore

Leroi Moore

As most of you know, Bruce and I are huge fans of the Dave Matthews Band. We were in Pullman, WA when we heard about Leroi’s death. Needless to say, we were both in shock and disbelief.

We have been going to their concerts here at the Gorge at least since 2002. (Bruce has gone longer than I have) This is the first year that we will NOT be going to their concert at the Gorge this summer. (We chose not to go this year due to many other activities this summer and could not fit this into our schedule)

Bruce and I are saddened by the sudden loss of such a key member of the band. It will be hard to imagine what the band will sound like and what they will do in the future. However, I think that Dave Matthews summed it up the best from his quote/excerpt from their site davematthewsband.com

“There’s no place I’d rather be than here with you guys right now.” We cherish special memories of our lost friend. Tonight, Dave told a story about LeRoi at a bar in Virginia where the cash register was near the stage and LeRoi leaned on the register because “standing had become a chore”. Roi proceeded to play the most beautiful version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Dave said, “that was the day I fell in love with him. And I’m still in love with him.” It’s safe to say we all were in love with him. “It’s always easier to leave, than to be left.”

Rest in peace Leroi, you will be dearly missed!

This is one of my favorite Dave Mathews Band songs, The Dreaming Tree, performed back in 2003. Since then he has kicked up the song by adding a trumpet into the mix (played by Rashad). My favorite version of this song was the one that they played at Piedmont Park. Unfortunately the Youtube video of this version is not very good otherwise I would have posted that video instead. If you have a chance to listen to the Dave Mathews Band live at Piedmont Park CD, please do…it rocks!!

Other DMB song favorites of mine are: The Stone, #41, Crush, Two Step, Dancing Nancies, Seek Up and Recently to name a few.
