Who knew that Johnny Depp was once in a band called The Kids and plays guitar?  Not only is he a great actor, a wonderful philanthropist and good looking, to top it all off he also is musically talented!  Go figure!! He even recorded a solo album in 1997!

Last Friday, Johnny joined his old group in the honor their former manager, Sheila Witkin, who passed away from leukemia two years ago, with proceeds going to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs. Depp was the lead guitarist and sang background vocals on some of the tracks as well as The Ronettes’ “Be My Baby.”

This guy never ceases to impress me.  He is one of the most modest, caring and talented actors in Hollywood.  Just recently, Johnny, Colin Farrell and Jude Law are donating all their earnings from their recent film “The  Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,”  to late actor Heath Ledger’s daughter.  Now that’s pretty cool!
