The boys team played against Richland yesterday in the consolation round. The Falcons took an early lead but never were able to lead by more than 4 points through out the game. The lead switched back and forth five times before Richland secured the game in the third quarter. Richland’s 11-0 run in the third quarter kept the Falcon’s from recovering the rest of the game. The final score, Richland 73, Prairie 63. What’s next: Prairie boys finishes their season with a 15-9 record and the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League and district titles. Great job boys! The girls played Lake Stevens yesterday in the quarterfinals. The Prairie girls were struggling throughout the game and did not gain the lead on the score board until late in the 4th quarter. The Falcon’s had trailed by 8 points early in the fourth quarter but they were able to turn the tables and make some big plays. With only 1:31 to play, the Falcons were able to tie the game 54-54. Lake Stevens was held scoreless for the final 2:04 of the game. Emily Lashua was able to secure the lead with a major defensive block against Lake Stevens along with Ashley Corral’s final 2 free throws to seal the game with a victory over Lake Stevens. Final score, Prairie 58, Lake Stevens 54. What’s next? Prairie girls face two-time defending state champions Lewis and Clark at tonight’s semifinals, which will begin at 7 p.m. PST.
