Congratulations Prairie HS Girls basketball team for their win against Skyview HS last night!

Last nights game (which went into overtime) secured Prairie’s 100th consecutive victory. (Prairie has won 100 consecutive Class 4A Greater St. Helens League games and 112 in a row against district foes in the regular season and playoffs)

This is not to say that Skyview did not give Prairie a run for their money. At half time, the Storm were ahead by 1 point (21-20). However, by the end of the 3rd quarter, Prairie was able to pull ahead by 6 points leaving the score at 33-39, Falcons. However this did not stop Skyview, by the end of the 4th quarter the game was tied at 45-45 which lead the teams into overtime. The Storm came out strong and scored the first basket giving them a 2 point lead against the Falcons. Prairie’s Lindsey Levanen was able to tie the score with 1:39 left on the clock. Prairie was also able to recover the ball from Skyview which lead to another 2 points by Levanen. Skyview had a chance to tie the game from the free throw line with 10 seconds left, but converted only one of the two free throws. With only 5 seconds left in the game, Ashley Corral was able to make 2 free throws which lead the Falcons to a 51-48 OT win.

This win puts Prairie HS girls basketball team in the league lead with a 15-3, 8-0 4A GSHL record. Prairie can clinch the title outright with a win over Heritage (who is 13-5, 6-2 right behind Skyview) on Saturday night.

Congratulations girls on your win!!! Let’s see if we can keep that streak going until the very end….
