This weekend is the Vancouver Kennel Club Dog Show held at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, WA. Bella has been entered in the 12 month old category and will be showing this Saturday (October 25, 2008) around 1:45-2:00 p.m.
She hasn’t shown since this last summer and held off entering her in shows as we felt she needed to “fill in” and mature a bit. We decided to enter Bella into this dog show as 1) it is local; 2) she has matured a bit more 3) its good practice for her.
We are not sure how well she will do, but we are excited to see her back in the ring. She seems to enjoy being in the ring (I think she thinks its like a play day or something!). And as long as she enjoys it and she gets the practice, we are supportive of it.
So wish her luck (and us) tomorrow. I will post pictures and results next week.

Bella Luna
Bella showed in two shows at the Portland Expo Center (see previous blog entry). She did very well considering that she had just turned 1 years old one day before her first showing on Friday. She was the youngest in her group which made it difficult for her to win due to her immaturity. However, this is not to say that we are disappointed in how she did. She showed BEAUTIFULLY!!! She gaited with pride and confidence and she was stacking a lot better than she had in the past.
Bella got 3rd in Sweeps and 4th in 12-18 month Junior puppy class on Friday. She got 4th on Saturday in the 12-18 month Junior puppy class as well.
All in all, we are very happy with her performance. She is doing well based on her age. I think as she gets older and matures she is going to be a contender for the other English Springers.
So watch out Junior puppy springers….Bella is on her way to becoming the future champion!

Bella will be showing today in Portland at the Willamette Valley English Springer Spaniel Association show in the 12-15 month Puppy Sweepstakes and the 12-18 month Junior Puppy classes. Tomorrow she is entered in the 12-18 month class at the Portland Kennel Club.
Good luck Bella!

Bella
It’s Bella’s 1 year birthday!! It is hard to believe that it’s already been a year since she was born (and about 10 months since we have had her). A lot has happened since then and a lot of good memories have been created!
We are looking forward to creating more of those happy and fun memories with you Bella! Just be nice to your brother Domino!!!

Bella's Medals
Bella had a successful day at the IABKC International Show. She was in two back to back shows on Saturday. As she was the only entered Springer Spaniel, she won her Bred by Exhibitor Class. She went on to win Best Sporting Group Puppy in of the shows. She was in the Best In Show Puppy… but lost to a Old English Sheepdog.
It was a successful day because she got lots of practice for her big ESS Specialty debut on Friday. She is a little wild in her first class, but by the end of the day she was showing beautifully.
At the IABKC shows the judges give you a written “report” of your dog. Both judges thought that Bella was a fine example of a Springer with great angulation, deep chest, a nice top line and good planes on her head. Both judges felt she was developing into an overall wonderful springer.
Bella is entered in 12-15 Month Puppy Sweepstakes and 12-18 Month Junior Puppy Classes at the Willamette Valley English Springer Spaniel Association on Friday. And Saturday she is entered into 12-18 Month again at Portland Kennel Club.
Bella will be showing this weekend in Longview for her 4th show. I don’t have much details as this was a last minute decision. Bruce and I will not be there, but Kelly will be and I believe will be showing her.
So good luck little Bella Luna! Let’s bring home another blue ribbon!!!
