Happy Birthday Mom! You would have been 81 years old today. On this special day, I celebrate you!
Guiding Light Mom
Mom, from the time I was really young,
I realized I had someone…you,
who always cared,
who always protected me,
who was always there for me no matter what.
You taught me right from wrong,
and pushed me to do the right thing,
even when it was hard to do.
You took care of me when I was sick,
and your love helped make me well.
You had rules,
and I learned that when I obeyed them,
my life was simpler, better, richer.
You were and are
the guiding light of my life.
My heart is filled with love for you,
my teacher, my friend, my mother.

Gayle, my mom would have turned 81 January 1st 2012. I have a hard time imagining her at that age, she never wanted to get old, so she maybe got what she wanted when she had her stroke that killed her in 1995. Sure was a huge shock for all her family of course. I miss her every day. I had just moved in with my now wife 3 months before that happened :-/

Thanks for sharing Michael. It’s only been two years since her passing and I thought it would get easier as time passes, but emotions are still very raw and at the surface. Her memories help me during these times and always makes me smile.

Gayle that is simply beautiful. I share your heartache as anyone who has suffered a loss will. I truly believe that the pain never leaves us just that we get better at dealing with it. Lots of love.
